Privacy Policy

Attune is a hormone-intelligent fitness app. Because we handle sensitive health data including menstrual cycle information, health conditions, and biometric data, we take your privacy seriously. This policy explains clearly what we collect, why, and how we protect it.

1. Who we are

2. What data we collect

We collect the following categories of information when you use Attune:

Account information

Name and email address
Password (stored encrypted, never readable by us)

Health and fitness data

Age, height, weight, and fitness goals
Menstrual cycle data — last period date, cycle length, period length
Health conditions you choose to disclose (PCOS, hypothyroidism, endometriosis, perimenopause, GLP-1 medication)
Daily check-in data — sleep quality, sleep hours, energy levels, stress levels, mood, and symptoms
Training preferences — experience level, equipment, training days, muscle priorities
Nutrition preferences — dietary approach, food intolerances, disliked foods
Workout logs — exercises completed, sets, reps, and weights
Body photos (if you choose to upload them for AI analysis)
Bloodwork data (if you choose to upload for AI analysis)

Usage data

App interactions tracked via Amplitude analytics (anonymised)
Crash reports via Sentry (no personal health data included)

3. Why we collect this data

All data we collect is used exclusively to provide and improve the Attune service:

To generate your personalised workout and nutrition plans via Claude AI
To calculate your daily readiness score and adapt session intensity
To track your cycle phase and provide hormone-contextual guidance
To adapt your programme around your health conditions
To remember your progress and improve plan quality over time
To provide AI-powered bloodwork and body composition insights

We do not use your data for advertising. We do not sell your data to third parties.

4. AI processing

Attune uses Claude AI by Anthropic to generate your workout plans, meal plans, and health insights. When generating your plans, relevant profile information is sent to Anthropic's API. Anthropic processes this data in accordance with their privacy policy and does not use it to train their models.

Nutrition data is verified using the fatsecret Platform API. Food item lookups are sent to fatsecret to retrieve accurate macro information. No personally identifiable information is shared with fatsecret.

5. Data storage and security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, hosted on AWS infrastructure in the ap-northeast-2 (Seoul) region. We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit (TLS) and at rest.

Subscription and payment processing is handled by RevenueCat and Apple. We never see or store your payment card details.

6. Data sharing

We share your data only with the following service providers, and only to the extent necessary to operate the app:

Anthropic — AI plan generation (health profile data)
Supabase — database and file storage
RevenueCat — subscription management (email only)
Amplitude — anonymised usage analytics
Sentry — crash monitoring (no health data)
fatsecret, food macro verification (food names only, no personal data)

We do not share your data with any other third parties, advertisers, or data brokers.

7. Sensitive health data

Attune handles sensitive health information including menstrual cycle data and health conditions. This data is:

Never sold or shared with advertisers
Never used to profile you for external purposes
Only used within the app to personalise your fitness and nutrition guidance
Stored encrypted and accessible only to you and our core infrastructure

Attune is not a medical service. The health insights provided are for fitness and wellness guidance only and do not constitute medical advice. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider for medical decisions.

8. Your rights

You have the right to:

Access all data we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate data
Request deletion of your account and all associated data
Export your data in a portable format
Withdraw consent for data processing at any time

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@attuneapp.io or use the Delete Account option in the app under Profile.

9. Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all personal data is permanently deleted within 30 days. Anonymised aggregate analytics data may be retained longer.

10. Children

Attune is designed for women 35 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us immediately.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify you within the app.
